Song Title: Change your life

Artist: Little Mix

Date of release: 15 February 2013

Description: ” Change your life ” is by Little Mix, the British girl group. The song was taken as their first single release from the Album ” DNA ” in 2012.
The song was written by the group along with Richard “Biff” Stannard, Tim Powell and Ash Howes, with production by both Stannard and Powell.
Little Mix were on the 2012 XFactor live tour when the song was written, it was to be the first song composed for the Album.
The girls used their experience of the show and the fans as a base for writing the song with a running theme of girl power mixed with a dash of self-empowerment.
” Change your life ” was recorded at Biffco Studios in Brighton, United Kingdom. written as a pop ballad with elements of soul mixed in with orchestral arrangement and thumping back beats.
At the beginning of the song is a spoken piece by Leigh-Anne Pinnock, this was to be compared to the 1997 single ” Never ever ” by another all girl group All saints.
The lyrics of the song focus mainly on motivation, a sort of inspiration and assertion for the sisterhood. The overall feel of girl power gives the song a Spice girls feel, the same formula they were doing years earlier.
In December 2012 ” Change your life ” entered the United Kingdom charts at number 116 with strong digital downloads, the Album ” Dna ” had just been released.
The song then re-entered the charts at 36 and then climbed to number 12 where it reached its peak, the song stayed on the UK charts for 9 weeks overall.
The song was to be the fourth consecutive top 20 hit for the group in the United Kingdom. Success was to follow for the girls on the Irish chart with a number 13 entry, giving the girls the highest new entry for that week. However ” Change your life ” only managed to climb one more place to number 12, the song spent a total of 10 weeks on the chart.
