The song, which took about an hour to write, was released in March 2018. It was inspired by his mum, who passed away from Ovarian cancer in 2016.
David explained ” She was the one who said to me once ‘ I don’t want to be a skeleton at the feast ‘ in reference to being at a holiday dinner with family and friends. She was feeling poorly and miserable, understandably, and didn’t want to ruin the evening for others. ”
He Added ” Right away; I knew it was a song title and a song. I think I also like it because it was one of those songs that pretty much wrote itself. ”
