” Don’t Let Me Down ” is essentially in the style of Trap music fused with dance-pop. Trap music originated in the first part of the 1990’s in the Southern United States, it’s a genre of Hip hop music which is mostly based around synth, orchestra and string swells with tight, bass-heavy 808 kick drums.
The song features the vocals of Daya ( Grace Martine Tandon ), she is American singer and songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her stage name Daya comes from the Hindi word for compassion or “mercy. Her song ” Hide Away ” reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The accompanying music video was filmed in LA and directed by Marcus Kuhne. It was released to YouTube on the 29th of April, 2016. As of the 1st of October 2016 the video has been viewed over 337,000,000 times.

In the United States the song made its debut on the 27th of February 2016 at number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, but it fell from the chart a week later. On March the 12th it made a re-entry at number 81, peaking at number 3 on the 16th of July, 2016.
In the United Kingdom the song first charted on the 21st of April, 2016. It reached a peak of number 2 and spent 11 weeks in the top ten and a total of 25 weeks on the UK chart.
