The song was taken as the second single from the 1997 Album ” Sweetbox “. This Album was the only one that had singer Tina Harris as the lead vocalist.
” Everything’s gonna be alright ” was written around ” Air on the G string ” from Suite No. 3 by Johann Sebastian Bach, the German composer and musician who was born in Eisenach, Germany around 1685.
The Los Angeles based group was actually formed in Germany in 1995 with Heiko Schmidt and music producer Roberto “Geo” Rosan writing and producing the songs.
This is the song that was to make the group and singer Tina Harris Worldwide hit makers. Previously the group had released four singles in the 1990’s with singers Kimberley Kearney and Dacia Bridges.
Real success was to come when a replacement singer was sought for the track. Tina Harris was perfect to not only be the face of the group but also it was her vocals that would ultimately make the song.
” Everything’s gonna be alright ” was the biggest hit Worldwide for Sweetbox to date. The song made the top ten on charts in countries including Austria, Belgium, United kingdom, Colombia, Finland, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
However the top ten was to prove elusive in Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands with top twenty placements.
In the United States Sweetbox reached the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart and settled at number 46.
In the United Kingdom the song reached a number 5 position and spent 3 weeks inside the top ten and a total of 14 weeks on the chart.
” Everything’s gonna be alright ” is the record that was to start the sampling of classical music for using in records, this is something the group has become famous for.
By the end of 1998 Tina had left the group and embarked on a solo career. She went on to release an Album using her own name and started writing for others.
