” Heartache on the Dance Floor ” is by Jon Pardi, the American country music singer, songwriter and record producer. Jon grew up in Dixon, formerly called Dicksonville, in northern Solano County, California. The city lies about 23 miles from Sacramento, the state capital.
Jon began writing songs at the age of twelve, within two years he’d formed his band. After graduating from high school, he decided to move to Nashville, the home of country music, to pursue his music career. Signed to record label Capitol Nashville, he released his debut single ” Missin’ You Crazy ” which debuted at number fifty-eight, peaking at number twenty-nine on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
His debut album, Write You a Song, was released on the 14th of January 2014 and made its debut at number fourteen on the Billboard 200 and number three on the Top Country Albums Chart. In the first week of release, it had sold 17,000 copies. As of February 2016, Write You a Song has notched up sales of 85,000 copies in the United States alone.
The song was written by Jon Pardi, Bart Butler and Brice Long. Bart is a songwriter and producer from the city of Hondo, Texas. Bart has worked with Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, Clay Walker, Mark Wills and Bobby Pinson, for which he won a BMI ( Broadcast Music, Inc ) award for the single ” Don’t Ask Me How I Know “.
Brice Long ( William Brice Long ) is an American country music singer-songwriter. He was born and raised in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky. Brice pursued a career in the rodeo during the early 90s until his father persuaded Brice to enter into the music business instead.
In 1993 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In the early days, he wrote songs for Randy Travis, Josh Turner and John Michael Montgomery. Brice later had songs recorded by Randy Houser and Gary Allan.
” Heartache on the Dance Floor ” was co-produced by Jon Pardi and Bart Butler and released on the 1st of May 2017 by record label Capitol Nashville ( Universal Music Group ). The song was taken as the third single from Jon’s second studio album, California Sunrise.
The album, released on the 17th of June 2016, was recorded in the studio using Jon’s full backing band as he wanted to give the album the live recording feel. California Sunrise debuted at the top of the Top Country Albums Chart, with sales of 24,000 copies in the first week of release. The Album also debuted at number eleven on the Billboard 200, selling 29,000 equivalent units.
On the 23rd of August 2017, it was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ) with sales of 173,200 copies in the United States.
The accompanying video for the country crossover song was filmed on location in Venice Beach, Southern California and was directed by Spanish filmmaker Carlos Ruiz.
Educated at the Miami International University of Art and Design, Carlos graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Cinematography and Film/Video Production. Carlos also directed the video for Jon’s second Billboard Country Airplay Chart-topping single, ” Dirt on My Boots “.
” Heartache on the Dance Floor ” has been a commercial success for Jon Pardi. In the United States, the song reached a peak of number fifty-four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017; it has to date spent nine weeks on the chart.
It has also reached number three on the Country Airplay and number seven on the Hot Country Songs charts.
