Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the saga were based on the novel Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. The American young adult fiction writer and film producer, best known for her vampire romance series Twilight, which sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
” A Thousand Years ” which also features on the accompanying soundtrack, was certified 4× platinum and became a commercial success in the United States selling over four million copies.
To date, her releases are two studio, five extended plays, eight singles, seven promotional singles and nine music videos.
” Jar of Hearts ” was written by Christina Perri with additional writing by Drew Lawrence and Barrett Yeretsian.
The production for the single was by Barrett Yeretsian, the American Producer, songwriter, multi-media composer and drummer. He is also the founder of IronHeart Records, based in Los Angeles, California; they were set up to nurture new talent. Along with Christina Perri, Barrett has worked with Diane Birch, Brendan James, Jay Jacobson and Jenn Bostic, who’s official Youtube video for ” Jealous Of The Angels ” have been viewed nearly three million times.
” Jar of Hearts ” was released on the 27th of July 2010 by record label Atlantic ( Warner Music Group ) and was taken as the lead single from Christina’s debut Album, Livestrong.
The Album, released on the 10th of May 2011, had a mixed reception from critics. The Album was a commercial success. In the United States, it reached number four on the Billboard 200 Chart. Livestrong peaked in the Top Ten in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, United Kingdom and Switzerland.
” Jar of Hearts ” is about Christina continuously shunning an ex-boyfriend who wanted to get back together after a breakup. She said in a blog post that the lyrics for the song came from actual experiences she’d had: ” I wrote the song after I went home to Philadelphia for a holiday last December. I sat in my childhood bedroom and hid from the boy (with the jar of hearts) who wanted to see me. My heart wanted to see him; my head knew better. I couldn’t take one more break, so I wrote the song instead. ”
The accompanying music video was directed by Jay Martin, the American director. He has worked with a variety of artists from different music genres including Shawn Mendes, Sabrina Carpenter, Kait Weston, Wolfmother, Eagles Of Death Metal and Death Cab for Cutie.
” Jar of Hearts ” was a commercial success for Christina. In the United States, the song debuted at number sixty-three on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, after spending twenty-three weeks on there it reached a peak of number seventeen.
Other Billboard Chart positions were number eleven on the Adult Contemporary, four on the Adult Top 40, twenty-six on the Latin Pop Songs and fifteen on the Mainstream Top 40.
In the United Kingdom, the song entered the UK Singles Chart on the 4th of June 2011 and reached a peak of number four. It spent nine weeks in the Top Ten and a total of fifty-five weeks on the UK chart.
The single peaked inside of the Top Ten in Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Scotland and Switzerland.
