The Moroccan-Swedish record producer, singer, songwriter and record executive, was born on the 9th of April 1972 in Tetouan, Morocco. Nadir has worked with some of the biggest names in music including Enrique Iglesias, Akon, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, Mika, Jennifer Lopez and Lionel Richie.
The song was released on the 23rd of March 2009 by record label Interscope ( Universal Music Group ) and was taken as the third single from her debut studio Album, The Fame, in the United States and some countries in Europe. It was released as the fourth single in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden.
The Fame peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 Chart in the United States. The Album went on to become the fifth best-selling Album of 2009. ” LoveGame ” was written in about four minutes, the uptempo synth-pop and electro-R&B song is lyrically it’s about love, fame and sexuality. The song’s hook, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick, is a euphemism for a penis. She got the inspiration for the hook after she had a ” sexual crush ” on somebody in a nightclub. The song’s composition and lyrical content were generally well received by music critics.
The accompanying music video was directed by Joseph Kahn ( Ahn Jun-hee ), the Korean American film and music video director. Joseph was born on the 12th of October 1972 in Busan, the second-most-populous city after Seoul, South Korea. Joseph began shooting music videos for local bands while in his teens. He has worked with an array of artists like U2, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent and Britney Spears.
” LoveGame ” was a commercial success for Lady Gaga. In the United States, the song reached a peak of number five on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It also reached number twenty-three on the Adult Top 40 Chart, Ninety-one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, seven on the Rhythmic and Number One on both the Dance Club Songs and Mainstream Top 40 charts.
In the United Kingdom, the song entered the UK Singles Chart on the 4th of April 2009 and reached a peak of number nineteen. It spent one week in the Top Twenty and a total of twenty-two weeks on the UK chart.
