” Me Too ” is by Meghan Trainor ( Meghan Elizabeth Trainor ), the American singer-songwriter. Born on the 22nd of December 1993 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, Meghan started singing at the age of six with her father, Gary, at church.
Her first venture into writing music was when Meghan at age 11, worked her arrangement of the 1938 song ” Heart and Soul “. The song, composed by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Frank Loesser, was first performed by Larry Clinton and His Orchestra with Bea Wain.
Later, between the ages of 15 and 17, she released three albums. All three contained material that Meghan wrote recorded and performed without outside help. Her debut album, Meghan Trainor, was released on Christmas Day 2009. It gained airplay when radio station WCIB ( also known as Cool 102 and owned by iHeartMedia, Inc ), began playing tracks from the album.
Meghan’s breakthrough came in 2014 with ” All About That Bass “, a track she co-wrote with Kevin Kadish, the American songwriter and record producer. The song went on to reach the top of the charts in fifty-eight countries, becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Her debut album, Title, her first for a major record label, was released on the 9th of January 2015 by Epic Records. It topped the albums charts in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States.
Meghan’s songwriting is influenced by music from the 1950s and 1960s. Her popularity as a recording artist has meant that she has had numerous awards and nominations. These include a Grammy Award, Music Business Association’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year award and two Billboard Music Awards.

Production for the single was by Ricky Reed, the American singer-songwriter and Grammy-nominated music producer. He has worked with a variety of artists including, Jason Derulo, Rixton, Jessie J, Pitbull, Fifth Harmony and Maroon 5.
The song was released on the 5th of May 2016 by record label Epic ( Sony Music Entertainment ) and taken as the second single from Meghan’s second major-label album, Thank You.
The album, released exclusively on Apple Music on the 6th of May 2016 was later released on the 13th of May by Epic Records. Thank You peaked at number five in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In Australia and the United States, it reached a peak of number three.
Lyrically the song is about loving and empowering yourself, urging those listening to be more content and confident.
The accompanying music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis. The American music video director. In 2006 Hannah graduated from the Los Angeles Film School and began a career in music video production. She has worked with a variety of artists like Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Hailee Steinfeld, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Jessie J, Tinashe and Lil Wayne.
On the 9th of May 2016 a video was released, but due to Controversy surrounding the use of photo manipulation of Meghan’s body the video was later removed that day. Another production without photo manipulation was the next day.
” Me Too ” was a commercial success for Meghan. In the United States, the song reached a peak of number thirteen on the Billboard Hot 100, spending twenty weeks on the chart there. It also reached number twenty-three on the Billboard Adult Contemporary, eleven on the Adult Top 40, twenty-eight on the Dance Club Songs and two on the Mainstream Top 40 charts.
In the United Kingdom, it entered the UK Singles Chart on the 30th of June 2016 and reached a peak of number eighty-six. It spent four weeks on the UK chart.
