” My World ” is by the Bee Gees, who were a pop music group. Formed in 1958, the group was made up of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The brothers were born on the Isle of Man, a small island between Great Britain and Ireland. Although an island just off the UK it is a self-governing crown dependency, with Queen Elizabeth II as head of state.
They moved to Chorlton, Manchester, England, where they stayed until the late 1950s. The family then moved to Australia, where the Gibb brothers found success with their 12th single ” Spicks and Specks “. In January 1967 they moved back to the United Kingdom and teamed up with producer Robert Stigwood, who began promoting the group to a Worldwide audience.
In 1997 the brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Bee Gees have sold more than 200 Million records worldwide, making the group one the World’s best-selling artists of all time.
Maurice died at the age of 53 in January 2003, due to complications of a twisted intestine. Robin died at the age of 62 on the 20th of May 2012 in London from liver and kidney failure. Barry is the only family member left; he still records and tours. In May 2004 all three brothers were awarded the Commander in the Order of the British Empire ( CBE ) for services to music.

” My World ” was written by the Bee Gees when they were backstage of a TV show called The Golden Shot. The game show was aired on the British commercial network ITV between the 1st of July 1967 and the 13th of April 1975.
Maurice Gibb said the song ” Whether something is a soft ballad or an uptempo thing, we would record it if we thought it was going to make a good single .” By the 13th of October 1971, the group had recorded the song at the IBC Studios in London.
