Production for the single was by Dieter Bohlen and Luis Rodríguez ( Luis Rodríguez Salazar ). Luis is a Spanish producer, arranger, mixer and engineer. He co-produced many of the songs for Modern Talking. Luis Rodriguez has worked with many artists including C. C. Catch, Chris Norman ( from Smokie) and Bonnie Tyler.
” Sorry, Little Sarah ” was released in 1987 by record label Ariola Records ( Sony Music Entertainment ) and taken as the first single from the group’s debut album, Walking On A Rainbow. The Album released on the 2nd of November 1987, had only this song released as a single.
The song is based around bossa nova, a genre of Brazilian music, which became popular during the 1950s and 1960s. The name means ” new trend ” and is a fusion of samba and jazz.
During an interview, Dieter Bohlen said of the song ” After Modern Talking, I thought for a long time what I could do now, and we never had a Samba hit in Germany. So it was, for me, a big challenge to write a Samba title. ”
” Sorry, Little Sarah ” was a commercial success in Dieter Bohlen’s home country of Germany. The song entered the Offiziellecharts ( German Singles Chart ) on the 2nd of November 1987 and reached a peak of number fourteen; it spent fourteen weeks on the chart there. The single also charted in Austria, Spain and South Africa.
