He has also appeared in many stage musicals, most famously in the early 90s as the lead role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
The song was written and produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman, which is often abbreviated to SAW. The English songwriting and record producing trio were made up of of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman. The hit makers enjoyed success from the middle part of the 1980s through to the early 90s.
They are one of the most successful songwriting and producing teams ever, with more than 100 UK top 40 hits under their belt. The trio have sold in excess of 40 million records during their career.

The Album went on to become the biggest selling album in the United Kingdom in 1989. The Album yielded two solo Number One singles, ” Too Many Broken Hearts ” and ” Sealed with a Kiss “. It also featured the track ” Especially for You “, a duet with Kylie Minogue, which had reached the top of the UK Singles Chart in January 1989.
The accompanying music video was filmed in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia. The historical town is famous for the growth it had during the gold rush days during the mid-1850s. The famous Australian outlaw Ned Kelly had links to the town and spent time in HM Prison Beechworth. The town’s historical buildings are well preserved, Beechworth has re-invented itself and evolved to become a popular tourist destination.
” Too Many Broken Hearts ” was a commercial success for Jason. In the United Kingdom the song entered the UK Singles Chart on the 4th of March 1989 and reached Number One, spending 2 weeks at the top. The song spent 7 weeks in the top ten and a total of 13 weeks on the UK chart.
