He co-wrote ” Stitches “, the Shawn Mendes 2015 UK Singles Chart Number One and US Billboard Hot 100 Chart number four. Scott Harris is an American songwriter, producer and musician. He co-wrote ” Don’t Let Me Down ” by The Chainsmokers, which featured Daya. His film scores include Beasts of the Southern Wild, a 2012 four-time Oscar-nominated American drama film starring Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry.
DJ “Daylight” Kyriakides, real name Daniel Kyriakides, is a Los Angeles based producer, songwriter and musician. In addition to working with Shawn Mendes, he has worked with the likes of Fifth Harmony and Sabrina Carpenter.
” Treat You Better ” was released on the 3rd of June 2016 by record label Island Records ( Universal Music Group ) and taken as the lead single from Shawn’s second studio Album, Illuminate.
The Album, released on the 23rd of September 2016, features the music of the pop, rock and blues genres. Illuminate debuted at Number One on both the US and Canadian Albums Charts and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. To date, the Album has been certified Gold in the UK and Platinum in the US.
The accompanying music video, released on the 12th of July 2016, was directed by Canadian Ryan Pallotta, the Los Angeles based video and commercial director. Ryan has worked directing music videos for Nick Jonas, Robin Thicke, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Alessia Cara and Ne-Yo. Ryan and his team developed innovative camera solutions for 360-degree experiences, used by some of the most prominent brands in the world like Google and Liberty Mutual.
