Wrecking Ball Miley Cyrus

” Wrecking Ball ” is by Miley Cyrus, the American singer and daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. The song is taken from her fourth album, Bangerz.
Released by the record label RCA Records, the song was to be the second single from the album.
” Wrecking Ball ” was written by MoZella, Stephan Moccio, Sacha Skarbek, Lukasz Gottwald, and Henry Russell Walter. Production for the single was done by Lukasz Gottwald and Henry Russell Walter.
Written as a pop ballad, it focuses on the breakdown of a relationship. The song, when it was released divided music critics.
Some commented on the lyrical content of the song along with production, others, however, wasn’t convinced that the delivery and showing of emotion in the song came across as genuine.
Despite the unconvincing show of emotion on the track ( at least in the critic’s opinion ), ” Wrecking Ball ” did prove to be a commercial success for Miley.
The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at number fifty and moved to take the top spot. It was to be the first Number One single for Miley in the United States.
Total sales for ” Wrecking Ball ” stand at roughly 3 million copies in the US alone. Along with high sales an excellent chart placement there, Miley also enjoyed worldwide success with the song.
Strong chart positions with Number Ones in Canada, Spain and the United Kingdom. In the UK both the song and the album entered at the top of the chart, this was to make Miley the first recording artist to get a ” Chart double ” in 2013.
Success for the song also came to Miley with Belgium seeing the song reaching number 4 and number 5 in the Belgian Ultratop in the Flanders and Wallonia regions.
In Germany, ” Wrecking Ball ” just stayed outside the Top five on the German charts, with France and Italy the song reached numbers two and three respectively.
